Role and Facility Information

Join our team as a full-time Nurse Practitioner.

As the Nurse Practitioner, you are responsible and accountable for the comprehensive assessment of patients/clients/residents including diagnosing diseases, disorders and conditions. You initiate treatment including health care management, therapeutic interventions and prescribe medications in accordance with the statutory and regulatory standards, limits and conditions, policy and guidelines. You will provide professional guidance to other health professionals and practice autonomously and interdependently within the context of an interdisciplinary health care team, making referrals to physicians and others as appropriate.

You will collaborate with patients/clients/residents and other members of the interdisciplinary team to identify and asses trends and patterns that have implications for patients/clients/residents, families and communities. You will develop and implement population and evidence based strategies to improve health and participates in policy-making activities that influence health services and practices. As part of the role, you will participate in peer review and self review to evaluate the outcome of services at the patient/client/resident, community and population level.

This position is based in the rural town of Sayward, which offers a unique blend of natural beauty, tranquility, affordability, and tight-knit community values. The area is perfect for nature lovers and families seeking outdoor adventure and a quieter pace of life. The Nurse Practitioner role in Sayward offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive primary care to a dedicated panel of approximately 400 patients, primarily older adults, allowing for meaningful, long-term relationships. You would work alongside a team of physicians and nurses. Orientation may take place with the team at the Health Centre in Gold River prior to transferring out to Sayward.

What You'll Need to Apply
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing NP registrant.
- Two years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
