Role and Facility Information
The Namgis First Nation is looking for a physician to join the Namgis Health team. The physician will work in clinic with 2 physicians and other health team members: including 2 community care nurses, 2 mental health workers, addictions counselors and a social worker. There are also visiting occupational therapists, social work, mental health, intensive case managers and a midwife. Additionally, visiting specialists include Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Ophthalmology and Psychiatry.
The position requires ER coverage, inpatient hospital care and long-term patient care. Both the clinic and hospital are located on the Namgis First Nations reserve. The position is salaried, and housing can be provided.
The Namgis are a forward-thinking people who are deeply invested in the health care of their community and, by extension, the health care of Alert Bay and surrounding peoples.
Benefits:
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
- Recruitment Incentive: $20,000 (full-time)
- Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
- Fee Premium: 23.94%
- Annual Flat Fee: $37,100.16
- Rural CME: starting at $1,320/annum 2 years or less in the community, increasing to $3,520/annum in year 3 & 4 to a maximum of $5,720/annum after 4 years.
