Role and Facility Information

The Cowichan Primary Care Network (PCN) is seeking nurse practitioner candidates to work with a team of practitioners and other health providers to collectively deliver care to patients at the Primary Care Network Centres/Clinics in Central Duncan. In these clinical service contract positions, providers will work as part of an innovative clinic model, working collaboratively with an inter-disciplinary health care team to provide culturally safe primary care. Acting as the most responsible primary care provider, providers are required to establish a minimum patient panel. After-hours care for patients may be required and the practitioner may participate in an after-hours call group, sharing after-hours coverage with other providers at the clinic. Site Information The Cowichan PCN, now in its 4th year of implementation, has a variety of available Nurse Practitioner positions across a variety of clinical settings. Central Duncan has 20 clinics: most are privately run clinics and two are Health Authority owned and operated. In late 2025, an Urgent Primary Care Centre will be opening in central Duncan. These clinics span rural and urban settings and provide care to people of all ages. Community Information The beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island enjoys Canada’s most temperate climate.
