Role and Facility Information
The Campbell River PCN is currently seeking to build a pool of interested nurse practitioner candidates to work with a team of practitioners, and other health providers, to collectively deliver care to patients at the Primary Care Network/Clinics in the Campbell River and District area. In these clinical service contract positions the providers will work collaboratively with an inter-disciplinary health care team to provide culturally safe primary care. The Campbell River PCN, now in its second year of implementation, currently funding a variety NP positions across a variety of clinical settings. The clinics are run by private family physicians; and these clinics span rural and urban settings and provide care to people of all ages including maternity care. Acting as the most responsible primary care provider, there will be a requirement for the provider to establish a minimum patient panel (see contract for details- year 3 and on-going 800 attachment requirement). After hours’ care for patients may be required in the services and the practitioner may participate in an after-hours call group, sharing after-hours coverage with other providers at the clinic. The roles will be made available subject to funding approval from the Ministry of Health. Community Information: Located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, and long known as "the Salmon Capital of the World," Campbell River is a hub of outdoor adventure and enjoyment. Here you can explore trails, go whale-watching, enjoy fresh and delicious seafood, or rent a kayak for an afternoon to tour the beautiful Discovery Islands. This small waterfront town is also rich in arts - as you walk around the town, you will find incredible bronze statues, Indigenous carvings, historical plaques, graffiti art, and more.
