Role and Facility Information

The Medical Arts Centre, located in the heart of downtown Nanaimo by the waterfront, is seeking part-time and full-time physicians to join our team. The successful candidate will support a retiring physician and will assume complex patients in addition to building their own diverse panel. The clinic is supported by excellent long-term staff. Allied health staff are on-site which include a Pharmacist, Mental Health councilors, social workers, RNs and NPs. Medical Arts is new facility, which enjoys state of the art electronic medical records (Intrahealth) and is complimented with AccellEMR. Patients are able to book appointments online with Accession. Evening and weekend walk-in clinics have been incorporated to assist with orphaned patients in the community. Nanaimo enjoys an excellent regional hospital with good specialty support. We are an active teaching site for the UBC Family Medicine Residency Program. Remuneration: Fee-for-Service or New-to-Practice Contract Start Date: As soon as possible. Community Information: Nanaimo, population 90,000, is a growing and vibrant urban centre situated on the east coast of Vancouver Island, located approximately 100 kilometers north of Victoria and offers excellent access via commercial flights, float plane or ferry to Vancouver. The community offers a wide variety of cultural and educational opportunities including the 800-seat waterfront Port Theatre, the Vancouver Island University and is adjacent renowned private schools. Nanaimo is the outdoor enthusiasts’ paradise, providing year-round access to a wide array of recreational activities including kayaking, kite boarding, windsurfing, mountain biking, hiking, running and golfing. Nearby Mount Washington frequently boasting the deepest snowpack in North America, has excellent downhill, snowboarding and cross-country skiing.
