Role and Facility Information

Medical Clinic seeks a Family Physician to work with a team of Family Doctors and other health providers to collectively deliver care to patients in the Sidney and Saanich area. The medical clinic is a Family Practice Clinic with additional integrated health care professionals. It offers team-based care, a commitment to flexibility and balanced lifestyle for doctors, a passion for Quality Improvement, and a diverse rural type practice. The clinic is minutes from an urban centre, and there are opportunities to work at the nearby Saanich Peninsula Hospital for in-patient care, ER, extended or palliative care, and OR assist. In this service contract position the Family Physician will participate as a member of an inter-professional team that will include other FPs, medical office assistants, registered nurses, social workers and behavioral health consultants. The Family Physician will participate in an after-hours call group (approx 1 week in 5, decreasing as other practices join the network), sharing after-hours coverage with other physicians, at the clinic and its network of associated clinics. Remuneration: New to Practice Service Contract Start Date: As soon as possible Additional Information: • The clinic generally operates Monday-Friday 08:30-16:30. Full time is 1680 hours of direct care over a minimum of 220 days. • After hours care for patients attached to practitioner is inherent in the services. • Member of on-call group; expected call rotation Qualification Requirements: CPSBC Eligible for Provisional Privileges at Saanich Peninsula Hospital Community Information: The Saanich Peninsula includes a mix of suburban residential and rural agricultural communities. Many Saanich residents work in Victoria, where the major employers are government, technology, and tourism. This leaves Saanich a predominantly suburban residential community with a small light industrial component and an agricultural sector. The Saanich Peninsula is also a major transportation hub with the Victoria International Airport and Swartz Bay ferry terminal.
