Role and Facility Information
Located on Squamish Nation reserve near Park Royal Shopping Centre is urgently looking for a GP to work in clinic 2.5 days a week. The 0.7FTE position available is a PCN contracted opportunity. The clinic currently operates 5 days a week with Physicians, Naturopathic Physician, Nurse Practitioner’s, MOA’s, Public Health Nurses, Traditional Healers and Elders and a clinic manager.
This primary care clinic is a part of the larger a health & wellness department which encompasses its own Mental Health and Wellness team, Home and Community Care program and Health benefits and advocacy.
The Primary Care Clinic is in need of GP’s with a strong interest and dedication to First Nations health care. Interested physicians should be experienced in providing Culturally safe and informed medical care. We see this as an exciting opportunity for GP’s wishing to expand their panels with the First Nations population. The GP should be interested in working in a team format to provide collaborative care. You should also be able to prescribe OAT or at minimum, ready to quickly step into the funded training currently available to learn how to prescribe OAT. The Primary Care Clinic can help interested physicians walk through the process of becoming an OAT Prescriber.
