Practice Details: Interior Health is seeking dynamic Nurse Practitioners to bring clinical expertise and passion for providing quality, compassionate care to join our team at the Kamloops North Shore Urgent and Primary Care Centre. The ideal candidate integrates their current or recent experience in primary care and urgent or emergent care, with a focus on the importance of foundational primary care. We are looking for someone who is positive, energetic, and empathic with strong communication skills and natural attention to detail. Be part of a cohesive team of clinicians who each have their own unique role and scope in the provision of patient care. You’ll work together to ensure that the patient’s urgent needs are met in the most effective way possible. The UPCC offers work-life balance with competitive wages, within a group services contract providing flexible four-hour shifts in a seven-day-per-week model and the contract group self schedules. Compensation: Contract, Salary range for the position is in alignment with provincial PCN contracts for Nurse Practitioners and starting salary will be based on education, training and experience. Clinic Details: Located in Northhills Mall, the new UPCC features a large purpose-built design with many exam rooms and an abundance of free parking. Our Family Physicians and Nurse Practitioners see a variety of patients. There is an increased number of team-based care options available by referral at the Urgent Primary Care Centre for non-life threatening illnesses or injuries that need same-day care; including a physiotherapist, a nurse, a social worker or other clinicians. With a hybrid walk-in and phone-in access model, patients will have choices and low-barrier access to care. The team provides care for: • Less serious injuries • Lacerations/wounds/skin conditions • Infections • Minor pediatric illness/injury • Women’s health • Culturally safe care Community Details: Kamloops is a vibrant city of 100,000, at the northern extension of productive wine country in south central British Columbia. We sit in the middle of lakes, mountains, ski hills, and river systems. We enjoy biking, hiking, skiing, water sports, all right here in our backyard. Our community has an excellent educational system, organized sports, music and theatre. There are amenities not often found in smaller urban centres. University affiliations provide rejuvenation and an atmosphere to keep learning. Qualifications: •Current registration and exam-qualified as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). •Successful completion of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). •Recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
