Role and Facility Information

Work where you play in this four-season lifestyle opportunity. You will be joining a multi-practitioner clinic that has provided care to the Beaver Valley region for over 40 years. Situated in the walkable downtown core of Fruitvale, BC, you will be practicing rural family medicine within a 15-minute drive of Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (75 beds, 80,000 population) in Trail, BC, which offers comprehensive specialist services. You’ll be less than 40-minutes away from two world-class ski resorts, Red Mountain and Whitewater, and even closer to multiple golf courses, lakes, hiking and biking trails, and campsites. www.beavervalleymedical.ca This opportunity allows you to customize your practice and experience professional growth. Consider part-time clinic and hospital-based care or explore various sub-specialties such as ER, Hospitalist, Long-term Care, Psychiatry, Obstetrics, and Surgical Assist. Choose your preferred work schedule with flexible hours and 8-12 weeks of vacation and education leave annually. Take advantage of optional teaching opportunities with medical students and residents. There are no call requirements, allowing you to fully enjoy life outside of work. You’ll be joining a collegial team of practitioners and knowledgeable, experienced staff. The clinic is in a modern, purpose-built building with 4 offices and attached exam rooms, 3 additional offices, a well-equipped minor surgery room, ECG equipment, and a staff lounge. The clinic uses MedAccess EMR. Beaver Valley Medical Clinic is part of the KB Primary Care Network with nurses, a social worker, and an occupational therapist directly supporting the clinic and enabling team-based care. Practitioners also have access to a regional team of allied health providers, including a pharmacist, registered dietician, and respiratory therapist. Whatever compensation model you choose, you’ll be supported in its administration. Compensation options include fee for service, or Longitudinal Family Practice Model (LFP). COMMUNITY Fruitvale, a close-knit community with room to roam. A short drive south-east of Trail, Fruitvale is an unassuming small town that is big on community spirit. The kind of place you could buy a few acres, plant a large garden, some fruit trees, have a horse and some chickens, and heck, throw in a goat or two. Fruitvale is known for its plentiful trout fishing and local Nitehawks hockey club, which has produced more than its share of NHL players. Family fun days with snowshoe races and orienteering, a welcoming library and elementary school, public art and blooming communities project – Fruitvale is rural living at its very best. A place where everyone pitches in. A place that feels just right.
