The COMC is a full-service perinatal clinic staffed by Family Physicians (FPs), Registered Midwives (RMs), Registered Nurses (RNs), Social Workers (SWs), and Medical Office Assistants (MOAs). The clinic is conveniently located on the KGH campus in Kelowna with accessible parking, and adjunct services such as NST, ultrasound, labor and delivery (L&D), and the perinatal unit.
There are currently three Patient Medical Homes (PMHs) with FPs who offer full-service maternity care for their attached patients in the community: Strathcona, Mill Creek, Guisachan. In addition, there are two midwifery clinics: Ponderosa and Westside Maternity Care. Other PMHs provide limited service such as pre- or post-natal care but do not do labor and delivery. The FPs and RMs at COMC form the on call rotations to support delivery of babies and inpatient obstetrical care.
Candidates must demonstrate a patient-centered and collaborative, team-based approach to care delivery. Clear, respectful communication with patients, families, team members, leadership and external partners is required to work effectively and efficiently within the clinic and in alignment with the organization’s values, vision and mission.
