Position Summary
We are seeking a confident Patient Care Coordinator (PCC), DC2A with a solid acute care nursing leadership background to join our team Merritt, B.C. This is relief full-time position working rotating days from 07:00 to 17:00.
As a Patient Care Coordinator you will cover acute care and emergency. Ideally you will have completed REDEP (rural emergency department education program).
Position end date: March 24, 2026, or until return of incumbent.

What will you work on?
The PCC is responsible for the coordination of day to day operations and quality patient care. This position supports the seamless movement of patients through the healthcare system and in accessing appropriate resources.
The PCC supervises as well as serves as a role model and a resource to staff for clinical decision-making, clinical assessments of patients and in the counseling and education of families. Reviews, analyses and makes recommendations on the development of administrative systems such as policies, procedures and standards of patient care, adequate staffing levels, and a continuous quality improvement environment. Liaises with the interdisciplinary team for identification, coordination and efficient utilization of resources as well as plans for staff educational needs.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area, three years of recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment and two years recent supervisory and teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current CPR certification required.
