Role and Facility Information
This Community Health Centre is seeking general practitioners to work collectively with an interdisciplinary health care team of RNs, NPs, a clinical counsellor, health outreach worker, and health educators, to provide a blend of longitudinal primary care services and focused sexual health services. ISH integrates primary health care with services that address the social determinants of health to populations residing in Greater Victoria, Saanich, and the Western Communities. This an exciting opportunity to join one of the region’s oldest community governed health care organizations and serve a range of patients with diverse health care needs. Patient attachment is focused on gender diversity, sexual health, mental health, HIV and people experiencing challenges related to accessing the social determinants of health. Additional Information: Part-Time and Full-Time positions available (2.3FTE) Hours of work: • Monday – Saturday (variation of shifts) • After hours care for patients attached to practitioner is inherent in the services. • Member of on-call group; expected call rotation Remuneration: Service contract; Ministry GP service rate Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with populations that are: gender and sex diverse (LGBTQ2+), experiencing mental health and substance use challenges, with histories of trauma, and/or have structural barriers to health like poverty, colonization and discrimination, with infectious disease (HIV/HCV/HBV). • Experience working in sexual health care preferred.
