Role and Facility Information
Our clinic is located in the heart of downtown Nanaimo by the waterfront. We have opportunities for full time, part time, and locum positions due to a retirement and expansion. There is excellent income potential with full rosters and various bonus incentive billings. No buy in and low shared overhead. This new facility enjoys state of the art electronic medical records (Intrahealth) and is complimented with AccelEMR. Patients also enjoy online bookings with Accession. Daytime, evening and weekend walk-in clinics have been incorporated to assist with orphaned patients in the community. Lab and pharmacy services are right next door. Nanaimo enjoys an excellent regional hospital. There is good specialty support. Obstetrics, emergency, and hospital privileges are optional. We enjoy excellent long term staff and there is a Nurse Practitioner and RN’s available to assist with complex patient care. We are also an active teaching site for the UBC Family Medicine Residency Program with 5 residents. Start Date As soon as possible Community Information Nanaimo, population 90,000, is a growing and vibrant urban centre situated on the east coast of Vancouver Island, located approximately 100 kilometers north of Victoria and offers excellent access via commercial flights, float plane or ferry to Vancouver. The community offers a wide variety of cultural and educational opportunities including the 800 seat waterfront Port Theatre, the Vancouver Island University and is adjacent renowned private schools. Nanaimo is the outdoor enthusiasts’ paradise, providing year round access to a wide array of recreational activities including kayaking, kite boarding, windsurfing, mountain biking, hiking, running and golfing. Nearby Mount Washington frequently boasting the deepest snow pack in North America, has excellent downhill, snowboarding and cross country skiing.
